With a (VNA) System the aisle space between the rows of rack are greatly reduced and the stored product is retrieved using a specialized side loading fork lift. With the size of the aisles minimized, usually around 40%, storage space utilization can yield you an increase of between 45 to 50% compared to traditional rack layouts.

VNA storage systems typically use floor guides in the aisles and on the end of aisles. These rails work to guide the narrow aisle fork trucks through the pick aisles, allowing for a faster, easier and more efficient picking operation. The guide rails can be inserted into the rack base or anchored to the floor, independent of the rack structure. The end of aisle rails are welded on either end of the row to protect the entrance of each aisle allowing the fork lift driver to safely navigate around corners. Both types of guide rail are welded on site for a precise fit creating a solid, continuous guide rail.

  A shed manufacturer North of Boston saw the need for more storage of finished sheds, knocked down and packed on large pallets waiting for delivery. Cogan delivered the answer with their Cantilever Storage Shed line. A large concrete pad was prepared by others for the T-Shed’s installation. Installation will be finished soon. The snow yesterday wasn’t much help for the install crew.  Great job by Action Industries, they’re providing their end user with a great solution at a great cost.

A growing baking operation in western Mass needed more space for their facilities maintenance operation. They had outgrown their existing area which included a mezzanine so they understand the advantages to using mezzanines, use the available air space and keep the floor space open for production! There was plenty of air space over a walk in cooler a short distance from the shop and a cat walk was designed to connect the 2 mezzanines. The new Cogan Mezzanine space will provide storage space for both pallet locations and shelving to hold the ever growing maintenance inventory.

Here’s small photo gallery showing the area where the latest Cogan Mezzanine will be installed in New England. The end user, a lubricant distributor, in central Mass needed to free up some valuable warehouse space. They were storing pallets of empty pails which were taking up the precious floor space needed for finished product. A Cogan Mezzanine is the obvious solution for this application. The vertical space above the filling line was there but couldn’t be used. Once completed, the Cogan Mezzanine will provide storage space for pallets of pails while freeing up valuable floor space for finished product.
